To coincide with the release of her highly anticipated new album Smell The Roses, award-winning Finnish guitarist and blues artist Erja Lyytinen releases the third single “ABYSS.”

Released Friday, March 28th, the Smell the Roses album is available now.

“ABYSS” is Erja’s heaviest track to date! This guitar-driven song has two guitar solos and melancholic lyrics that carry you throughout this epic, over seven minutes long track. The music video was shot inside of a rock, in a secret location, to capture this dark and gloomy feel.

“ABYSS is my favourite track on the new album,” says Erja. “I feel it’s one of the strongest songs I have ever written. The lyrics are simple, yet quite melancholic, pointing out the feeling when you just keep on falling, deeper and deeper into the shadows and darkness. I wrote two guitar solos for this song. I remember practicing my fingers off for the diminished licks on the latter solo.”

Continues Erja, “I wanted to express that feeling of being alone in the dark. There’s no way out. You’ve been left to carry all the burden by yourself. That’s a heavy feeling, and you can really feel that on the song. This will be a heavy and loud track to perform on stage!”
