With gentle instrumentation, the song’s melody flows effortlessly. Todd Brunel’s smooth, rich clarinet evokes a deep sense of tranquility, its warm tones mirroring the longing for simplicity. The keyboard, with its ethereal chord progressions, weaves a delicate tapestry that anchors the song. And vocally, Lilli’s subtle wavering of pitch in the vibrato technique imparts the performance with warmth and passion. Altogether, they create a soundscape that perfectly complements the song’s message of creating a more meaningful holiday.

This year is a ‘Holiday Song’ written by my friend, Dale Geist, arranged by me, and performed by myself, longtime collaborator Todd Brunel and frequent LLP organist Ross Hoppe.
